Description

To easily transfer an embroidery design to a fabric before embroidering it point by point, this DMC U1541 transfer paper quickly becomes a valuable ally in the workshop. It allows you to faithfully reproduce a design, a monogram or a pattern without having to redraw it freehand, which saves valuable time for both beginners and experienced embroiderers, particularly for cross stitch, traditional embroidery or punch needle projects.

This package brings together two sheets of paraffin-free paper, in 21.5 x 28.5 cm format, available in two complementary shades: yellow, preferred on dark fabrics, and blue, reserved for light fabrics. This double coloring guarantees a line that is always clearly visible, whatever the textile support chosen. The lines obtained are clean and precise for a faithful transfer of the original pattern, and they are then easily erased with a soft eraser or with a slightly damp cloth, without leaving any residual trace on the finished work.

  • Slide the colored sheet between the pattern and the fabric, colored side against the fabric, then go over the contours with a stylus or dry point.
  • Choose the yellow sheet for dark fabrics and the blue sheet for light fabrics, in order to obtain optimal contrast.
  • Always secure the fabric and design with a little tape before tracing, to avoid any shifting during transfer.
  • Use this paper to transfer monograms, cross stitch patterns, traditional embroidery or punch needle.
  • First test the transfer on a scrap of fabric before starting on your final work, in order to measure the necessary pressure.

Consider completing your embroidery kit with a stylus or blunt tip for tracing, as well as a DMC embroidery hoop to keep the fabric taut while working. A set of embroidery needles and a few skeins of Mouliné DMC thread will naturally extend this preparation stage, just before moving on to the actual embroidery.
