Description
Want to breathe new life into your favorite sweaters, a worn cardigan or a pair of holey socks? This DMC mini loom is the ideal tool for creating small weaving and creative mending projects, without prior experience in weaving or embroidery.
This compact accessory consists of a 7 x 8 cm metal tool fitted with a row of hooks, a 10 cm needle which acts as a shuttle, a wooden washer of approximately 6 cm in diameter and 5 elastic bands intended to tighten the warp thread. Once the threads are installed, simply run your finger over the row of hooks to raise and lower the threads one by one and start weaving, like with a shuttle. A tutorial in French, accompanied by a QR code linking to an explanatory video on the DMC website, guides beginners step by step in using the tool. The craft is delivered in craft cardboard packaging, without plastic, for a more environmentally friendly creative gesture.
- Use a thread of the same shade as the garment for discreet and almost invisible mending.
- Opt for contrasting colors to create a decorative and visible weave, in an apparent repeat way.
- Run your finger over the row of hooks to alternate the warp threads and vary your woven patterns.
- Try several yarn materials (cotton, wool, mouliné) to obtain different textures on the same piece.
- Use it to customize a bag, a pouch or a corner of fabric before sewing it on a garment.
To extend your weaving and creative mending sessions, combine this mini loom with DMC Mouliné Special embroidery threads to vary the colors, a suitable tapestry needle, as well as a dispenser or a storage pouch to organize your skeins. Enough to put together a small kit dedicated to repairing and personalizing your favorite clothes.
