For your tapestry and canvas projects, this DMC Colbert 486 tapestry wool offers a delicate and timeless shade. Light porcelain blue 7301 soothes compositions without muting them: ideal for backgrounds, gradients or touches of lightness on a small or medium-sized canvas.

Made in France, this wool is composed of 100% virgin wool , worked in thick and regular strands which slide easily in the canvas. The 8 meter skein covers a generous surface area: count around 40 to 50 tight cross stitches or a continuous strip of several centimeters depending on your technique. Its natural thickness eliminates the need to thread several strands, unlike traditional embroidery threads.

This wool can be worked with cross stitch, stem stitch or satin stitch. It adapts to traditional canvas fabrics with counts of 10 to 14 points per inch, and delicately revives when dry ironing after work.

• Separate the needle 40 cm to preserve flexibility and avoid premature fraying.
• Test light porcelain blue 7301 in gradient with pearl grays or off-whites to obtain a soft depth.
• Combine it with warm colors — linen beige, ash taupe — for a harmonious contrast.
• Cleaning is done with cold soapy water, without twisting or wringing: lay the item flat to dry.
• Keep your original skein so you never lose the exact color reference in the event of future touch-ups.

To complete your palette, combine this wool with neutral tones or other blues from the Colbert DMC range: duck blue 7322 for the shadows, or very light sky blue 7305 for the highlights. This will create sophisticated and natural gradients.
