COTON PERLE 1 ECH 25M (M)

A soft and slightly warm gray, Gray Reindeer soothes without monotony. This shade goes well with delicate embroideries on unbleached linen as well as more structured projects in cross stitch or knotted stitch. It blends gracefully with neutral shades – ecru, taupe – and takes advantage of light contrasts with off-white for muted patterns.

The Coton Perlé DMC n°5 is a twisted 100% cotton thread, composed of two inseparable strands which give it its characteristic “pearled” appearance. Its satin and silky feel brings volume and clear relief to each point, while its colorfast quality guarantees stable color over time and washes. Presented in a 25 m skein and made in France, it is available in more than 300 colors, including Renne gray 645, which allows you to compose precise color charts and gradients from one work to another.

• Work it in short needles, without exceeding 40 cm, to preserve its shine and prevent it from fraying.
• Use it as is, without dividing it into strands, for a regular finish and homogeneous shine.
• Use it for decorative stitches and Hardanger blocks, where the relief of the thread must remain clearly visible.
• Try it in cross-stitch on large-count canvas for a textured and luminous finish.
• Combine several Reindeer Gray and neighboring colors from the same range to create gradients within the same work.

This thread goes naturally with an Aida canvas or a Penelope canvas, a ball-point needle adapted to its thickness, as well as an embroidery drum to maintain regular tension while working on relief stitches and Hardanger finishes.
