Are you looking for a reliable sewing thread to assemble all your fabrics, from the thinnest to the thickest? The DMC Tous Textiles 1022B thread in blue 4868 is present on every project. This deep blue, slightly strong, harmonizes with navy shades, denims and natural cottons without drawing the eye to the visible seams.

This polyester thread is resistant to repeated washing, intensive use and temperature variations, which makes it ideal for assembly by machine or by hand on clothing, accessories and furnishing elements.

• Work with 40 to 50 cm needles to prevent the thread from linting during repeated passes through the fabric.
• When sewing by hand, make three tight backstitches every 10 cm to anchor the thread at tension points.
• Use it as a bobbin thread for invisible finishing seams: its neutral color disappears under regular stitching.
• Combine it with a thread of the same shade in spool tension and bobbin thread for a result without burrs on both sides.
• Test it on a scrap before sewing your delicate fabrics: polyester works well with synthetic fabrics as well as natural fibers.

Complete this spool with universal needles no. 70 or 80 for machine sewing, or with a sewing needle no. 6 or 7 for hand work. On thin fabrics, reduce the thread tension by a few tenths to avoid undulations. Blue 4868 pairs equally well with pearl grays, off-whites and deep blacks, making it a versatile thread to build up a small stash of neutral colors.
