An intense and assertive magenta rose, which imposes its presence on canvas or linen. This saturated shade is suitable for graphic embroidery, cross-stitch monograms, and designs that require contrast. We happily combine it with white to purify the whole, or with similar shades like fuchsia for a more daring composition.

This embroidery thread from the Mouliné Effect Lumière range by DMC (reference 317W) is made up of 6 separable strands , which allows you to adjust the thickness of the stitch according to the desired effect. Its 100% polyester composition gives it a metallic shine that resists well to stitching, where a simple shiny thread would tend to tarnish. Presented in an 8 m skein, the Magenta Rose shade embroiders exactly like a classic mouliné and is suitable for all traditional stitches, while bringing light and relief to the work.

Our tips for using it properly

• Tie a small simple knot in the eye of the needle to lock the thread and reduce friction, which preserves its shine for longer.
• Separate the strands one by one before reassembling the desired number, the thread will then slide more easily through the fabric.
• Work with lengths of wire that are short enough to limit wear on the metallized strand when passing repeatedly through the eye.
• Reserve this thread for highlights and finishes to concentrate its luminous effect on areas that should catch the eye.
• Combine Rose Magenta with a classic cotton mouliné to nuance the shine on large embroidered surfaces.

This metallic thread goes naturally with Aïda canvas or haberdashery quality linen, as well as with an embroidery hoop adapted to the format of the pattern. It also finds its place alongside a storage box with compartments, practical for classifying the glittery skeins separately from the matte threads throughout the projects.
