A warm and spicy saffron which envelops the embroidery in a golden hue with amber highlights. This sunny shade lends itself to floral patterns, geometric ornaments and designs on light fabrics. Combine it with off-whites for more delicacy, or with deep ochres to reinforce the chromatic richness.

An embroidery thread that captures the light

DMC's Mouliné Étoile combines 73% cotton with 27% lurex polyamide to offer a delicate shimmering effect that illuminates each stitch without weighing down the texture of the thread. Made up of 6 separable strands , it allows you to freely adjust the thickness of the embroidery according to the desired effect, from the finest detail to generous filling. Its 8 m skein retains the same size as the Mouliné Spécial , which makes it easier to mix yarns within the same work. The Saffron color belongs to a palette of 35 shades designed to dialogue with the classic range, between shine and dullness.

• Separate the strands one by one before grouping them to the desired number, for a very even finish.
• Reserve this thread for areas to be highlighted: borders, snow spots, festive patterns or decorative elements.
• Work with short needles to preserve the shine of the lurex and limit friction.
• Combine it with Mouliné Special of the same number to obtain a subtle ombré effect on the same pattern.
• Choose a needle with a wide eye, suitable for metallic threads, for smoother passage through the canvas.

This sparkling thread goes naturally with Aida or linen canvases used in cross stitch, as well as with skeins of Mouliné Spécial or Coton Perlé DMC to create works combining matte and shiny materials. It also finds its place alongside embroidery beads or fine ribbons for decorative or creative haberdashery creations.
