Description
DMC Colbert 486 tapestry wool is the essential ally for your cross-stitch embroidery projects on canvas and tapestry. This sturdy 100% virgin wool yarn offers optimal coverage and texture that enriches every stitch. The Cordage beige 7141 color soothes compositions, blending in with both warm and cold tones to create subtle gradients.
Material and origin: 100% wool, spun and dyed in France. The 8 m skein is easily divided into 2, 3 or 4 strands depending on the weft of your canvas and the desired fineness. This wool holds up well to washing in warm water and gentle laundering techniques. Its natural thickness saves the repetitive efforts of traditional embroidery.
- Work with needles of 40 to 50 cm to prevent the thread from wearing out prematurely as it passes through the stitches.
- Create delicate shades by mixing Cordage beige 7141 with a pearl gray or a deeper taupe.
- Perfect for garnishing floral patterns or architectural details with small, tight stitches.
- Suitable for Zweigart canvases with 10, 12 and 14 threads per centimeter, it covers without leaving holes.
- Try to thicken the outlines of your main shapes: a double line gives relief without overloading the work.
Pair this wool with other shades from the Colbert range — including natural ochres and grays — to build timeless earthy harmonies. A must-have in the tapestry box of experienced embroiderers.
