Made from 100% wool , Colbert can be worked on canvas, Beauvais tapestry or dense embroidery fabrics. The 8 meter skein generously covers an average surface area. This wool can be dry cleaned – avoid washing with water which could cause it to felt – and retains its natural shine for a long time. • Work in needles of 40 to 50 cm to avoid fraying and maintain the uniformity of the stitches.
• Combine Glazed Brown 7064 with pearl grays or beiges to create subtle gradients on tapestry.
• On 8 points per centimeter canvas, a length of 8 m covers approximately 15 to 20 points in diameter.
• Use a round-tipped needle (tapestry) rather than a sharp needle so as not to prick the strands.
• Carry out tests on scraps to adapt your stitch tension before starting the work.
