DMC Perlé Cotton n°5 Black 310 is a must for embroidery on linen, cotton or canvas. This non-separable thread offers a natural shine that highlights every stitch, whether geometric patterns or fine details. The 15 m skein in 100% French combed cotton allows you to make several small projects or complete a current project.

100% combed cotton made in France , this thread is distinguished by its twisted structure which makes it thicker and more rigid than Mouliné Spécial. Unlike separable threads, Perlé Cotton No. 5 can be used in its entirety, which guarantees uniform tension and a regular finish on your canvas. Its intermediate diameter makes it ideal for fine pin canvases and small patterns that require precision. The 15 m skein stores easily in the embroidery box.

• Thread the needle with a piece of 40 to 50 cm: this length limits the wear of the thread during repeated passes through the canvas.
• Work on an 18 stitches per inch canvas to maximize the shine of the thread and the relief of each stitch.
• Combine black 310 with whites and light grays to create contrast on vintage or geometric inspired patterns.
• Run the thread through dry soap before threading it: this tip considerably reduces knots.
• Use in cross stitch, back stitch or chain stitch depending on your project and your canvas.

Combine this deep black with other shades of DMC Coton Perlé to create subtle gradients or marked contrasts. Off-whites (ecru, pearl gray) bring out the brilliance of black 310 on a light background, while navy blues and browns give classic coherence to timeless patterns.
