The white color 2031 adapts to all light tones, from raw linen to ivory cotton and pastels. Use it with a fine needle for details, or with a machine in balanced tension for chain stitching.

• Thread a fine needle size 60 to 70 for hand sewing: the thread slides better and does not catch the fibers.
• In the machine, set a moderate tension: cotton cannot withstand excessive tensions which cause it to break prematurely.
• For invisible repairs, work with needles of 30 to 40 cm maximum: shorter, the thread does not fray and remains shiny.
• Combine it with Bohin needles in size 8 or 9 for puncture comfort and regular penetration.
• Always test your tension on a scrap of fabric: a seam that pulls on one side can be corrected by slightly reducing the tension of the top thread.

Combine with a fine seam ripper and matching needles for a complete sewing box. Hand seams in raw cotton also benefit from being stitched beforehand by machine: it saves time and guarantees solidity.
