For embroideries that require shine and structure, DMC Retors d'Alsace Perlé Cotton n°5 Orange 4124 is your ally. This twisted yarn combines the fineness of high quality combed cotton with a specific twist which creates a natural relief on the fabric. Unlike smooth threads, its worked surface catches the light and highlights each stitch, particularly on works with a regular weft.

Non-separable yarn , presented in a 25 g skein. Made of 100% pearl cotton, it is entirely worked with a needle. Orange 4124 offers a warm shade, neither too bright nor too faded, which goes as well with neutral tones as with reds and ochres. • Thread the needle with a length of 50 to 60 cm to limit wear on the thread and maintain its shine.
• Work on medium to fine count canvases — 14- or 16-count linen, 18-count cheesecloth — so the twist really pops.
• The twist makes it ideal for shading and gradients: slightly overlap the rows for a natural fade effect.
• Test the thread on a scrap before starting: its texture may require adjusting the tension of the frame.
