Having been a "seamstress" for several years, and having this product in my possession myself, I found that slipping this into the box that I would give her for Christmas was wise. But I preferred the Prym brand because the magnet is effective which is not always the case
Apart from the fact that it keeps the pins within reach, which is its primary function, I find it practical to just have to grab it to pick up all the "rebellious" pins that may have fallen on the floor, or on my work surface.
